Extended hours approved at Edgware's Krazzy 4 bar
COUNCILLORS will allow an Indian restaurant and bar lounge to stay open longer at the weekends despite neighbours' objections.
Customers can remain in Krazzy 4, in Whitchurch Parade, Whitchurch Lane, Edgware, until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights.
Though the bosses of the 120-capacity venue wanted to serve alcohol and host music and dancing until 15 minutes before closing time, Harrow Council's licensing sub-committee imposed a cut-off time of 1.30am.
Neighbours echoed the apprehensions of Jigna Bhudia, of Whitchurch Lane, who e-mailed the council, saying: "I am very concerned of the late disturbance which may occur, in respect to noise and vandalism.
"During this year the above business has had a few private parties which have led to drunk and disorderly young members causing damage to property, for example pushing over bins into driveways, knocking into parked cars.
"Abusive language was being used very loudly along the street, causing upset to children sleeping in the front room.
"I have this issue as my young daughter has been woken many times."
The application for a variation of the premises licence, submitted by applicant Romilkumar Patel, did not seek to change the Sunday to Thursday operating times, which remain at midnight, including half an hour's drinking up time.
The panel did impose a condition that an appropriate automatic noise control device is fitted to all amplified sound equipment.
Krazzy 4 opened in 2008 and was previously called UVU Hotplate, Juggy's Lounge and, before that, Cyclone Club.
