Golf club opens doors to everyone
A CLUB is hoping to encourage more people to get in to golf and shake off the "elitist" stereotype.
Stanmore Golf Club is holding a 'Get into Golf' open evening on Wednesday August 1 between 5pm and 9pm.
General Manager Allan Knott said: "The club is keen to show that golf is a sport that is available to everyone. Golf is sometimes seen as an elitist sport, but this is not the case at Stanmore. The club prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and everyone is welcome to come along and take part in this great game."
PGA golf professional James Reynolds and his team will be at the event to give free taster lessons and beginners are welcome to come along.
The club is on Gordon Avenue, Stanmore.
