A PRIVATE garden in Stanmore will be opening to the public during January and February as part of The National Gardens Scheme.
Visitors will be able to make an appointment to look round Hornbeams in Priory Drive owned by Richard and Barbara Stalbows.

The garden, designed for a year round interest, promises "carpets of aconites, snowdrops and anemones underplanted with winter-flowering shrubs and Tulipa sprengeri naturalised throughout". Its special feature is a Banksian rose, clipped hard.
Admission is £3 with children free, and refreshments can be supplied by arrangement for £2.
