Marchers remember bombing victims
Walkers united in Stanmore to take part in an event organised by a survivor of the July 7 bombings.
Gill Hicks, who lost both her legs in the London attack, was joined by Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair for WALKTALK, an event which aimed to get people to listen to each other.
Danielle Benson, of Woodside park, in Finchley, took part in the walk and helped organise the event.
She said: "It was a wonderful atmosphere on the day.
"A group of young Muslims from the Hendon mosque also walked and we had around 30 people join us which was fantastic."
The North London part of the event started from Stanmore and Canons Park United Synagogue, in London Road, last Thursday (14).
Non-profit organisation M.A.D for Peace organised the walk with Together for Peace, a group that aims to bring together communities, and Global Promise, a Leeds-based group dealing with conflicts and issues in the city.
The walk was part of a month-long event that started in Leeds on July 19 with groups trekking through areas including Sheffield and Luton.
The journey ended in Trafalgar Square with a ceremony and speeches on Sunday (17).
